Locomotive #473 departs Durango, Colorado on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Rio Grande Southern "Goose" #5 will be operating at the Cumbres and Toltec for the "Narrow Gauge Rendzvous"

Happy August 1st Everyone. As summer winds down, railfans are gearing up for Fall Excursion Season, when many railroads operate extended Steam Excursions for the Fall Foliage. During the month of August, many railroads and museums operate special Railfan Events offering the chance to ride and photograph unique equipment. 

August 18-20, 2016 - "Railfest"
Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad 
Durango, and Silverton, Colorado. 
Doubleheader from Durango, Presidential Special, and the rare opportunity to ride and photograph Locomotive #315, a 2-8-0 built in 1895. Locomotive #315 is owned and maintained by the Durango Railroad Historical Society.

August 26-28, 2016- Narrow Gauge Rendezvous
Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad 
Chama, New Mexico.
Photo Specials will be operated with a variety of visiting operational equipment including Locomotive #315, a 2-8-0 built in 1895, and Rio Grande Southern "Geese" #5 & #7. Special Photo Trains will operate to various locations along the line.
 A Night photo shoot will conclude the event.
