Steam by State and Traveling Steam Updates.

The Nebraska Zephyr Streamlined Train passes Frisco #1630, a 2-10-0 Steam Locomotive that is waiting for it's turn to pull a passenger train at the Illinois Railway Museum, in Union Illinois.

Baldwin Locomotive Works #26, an 0-6-0 Steam Locomotive, takes a spin on the Turntable at Steamtown National Historic Site, Scranton, Pennsylvania.

 I Just finished updating the Steam by State page of this website, now that most railroads have posted 2017 Operating Schedules. Please visit the Steam by State Page and take a good look around. I do my best to make it easy to find the operating schedule and motive power schedule for each railroad. You will see I have listed every tourist railroad and museum that operates steam locomotives. Hopefully you will use this to plan your travels... perhaps on your way to see one of the Mainline Steam Locomotives you will find a new operation to stop by and discover. 

If you are headed to see the #765 in Joliet IL, it would be a shame not to stop by Monticello, or the Illinois Railway Museum. Likewise, for you lucky ones with plans to see the #4449 this Summer, the Oregon Coast Scenic should be on your railroad radar! 

I also updated the "Traveling Steam" page. These small tank engines are very fun to see and hear in operation. Leigh Valley Tank Engine #126 and
Viscose #6 will both be getting around to
Steam in 2017!
