Southern #4501 at the Tennessee Valley Railroad, Chattanooga TN. Coal Burning, 2-8-2 Steam Locomotive built by Baldwin in 1911.

Shay #4, at the Cass Scenic Railroad, Cass WV. Coal Burning Geared "Shay" Steam Locomotive, built by Lima in 1922.

Union Pacific #844, in Cheyenne WY. Oil Burning, 4-8-4, Steam Locomotive, built by ALCO in 1944.

July 1st! It's already July! 

Mark your calendars for the following Special Events- 

July 2 - Tennessee Valley Railroad in Chattanooga TN Operating the 100 mile Summerville Steam Special with Southern Railway Mikado #4501. Southern Railway #630 will operate on the Missionary Ridge Local Train all week as well.

July 2-3 - Texas State Railroad in Rusk TX. 
Operating a Railfan Photographers Special with Night Photo Session, and an all day excursion with Photo Run-bys. Magma Arizona Mikado #7 is likely to power the special train, while Southern Pine Lumber #28 could also make an appearance under steam.

July 2-4 -
Nevada State Railroad Museum - Carson City NV 
Special 4th of July Operations all weekend long with 3 historic locomotives under steam. 
Virginia & Truckee 4-6-0 #25 will be pulling passenger trains.
Virginia & Truckee Wood Burning 4-4-0 the "Inyo" will be under steam and on display 
Narrow Gauge Wood Burning 2-6-0 "Glennbrook" will be under steam and on display.

July 16-17 - Cass Scenic Railroad in Cass WV. 
Operating a "Railfan Express" with a night photo session on Saturday, and a photo special on Sunday featuring a rare turned locomotive and photo runbys. 
Also on Saturday July 16th, the annual "Great Train Race" where Steam and Diesel Race at Old Spruce.

July 22 -
Great Smoky Mountains Railroad - Bryson City NC. 
Baldwin 2-8-0 #1702 returns to Steam pulling excursions on the scenic line to the Nantahala Gorge or along the Tuckasegee River to Dilsboro NC. Various Excursions and Photo Specials are planned from July 22 through the end of 2016.

July 23 - Cheyenne Frontier Days Train - Denver CO 
Union Pacific 4-8-4 #844 returns to Steam pulling the Cheyenne Frontier Days train on the Union Pacific Mainline from Denver CO to Cheyenne WY. The #844 will pull an all matching fleet of Union Pacific Heritage Cars on a historic mainline route.
