Union Pacific Big Boy #4014 is the largest and most powerful operational steam locomotive in the United States.
#4014 was delivered new to the Union Pacific in 1941 as a coal burning locomotive.
#4014 was retired from revenue service in 1961.
#4014 was on display at the Rail Giants Museum in Pomona, California from 1961 - 2013.
#4014 was completely rebuilt, including conversion to burn fuel oil by the Union Pacific Steam Shop in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

In 2019 I was able to ride behind the Union Pacific Big Boy from Omaha, Nebraska to Boone, Iowa.
I was also able to chase and photograph the #4014 from Boone, Iowa to Mason City, Iowa.
