The Union Pacific Big Boy #4014 is the largest operating steam locomotive in the world. Built in 1941 by ALCO the Big Boy Steam Engine was retired in 1961. In 2019 after a multi-year restoration the Union Pacific #4014 Big Boy returned to it's home rails - the mainline of the Union Pacific!
On August 5, 2021, the Big Boy will depart the Union Pacific Steam Roundhouse in Cheyenne, Wyoming and travel through the states of Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. Additional details and "Whistle Stops" will be added to the schedule but for now here are the dates and locations that the Union Pacific Big Boy will be on public display during the 2021 Tour -
Saturday, Aug. 14: Fort Worth, Texas
Tuesday, Aug. 17: Houston, Texas
Saturday, Aug. 21: New Orleans, Louisiana
Sunday, Aug. 29: St. Louis, Missouri
Monday, Sept. 6: Denver, Colorado
