| Railroad Days in Fullerton, California is an annual Community Festival. It is held on May 7 & 8, in 2017 at the Fullerton Transportation. This is a truly unique event featuring lots of rarely displayed railroad equipment together with Model Railroads on Display. The highlight for most TrainChasers (at least those who regularly check the MAINLINE STEAM page) will be Santa Fe 4-8-4 Steam Locomotive #3751, which will operate under its own power from Los Angeles to Fullerton where it will be on display for the weekend. #3751 is one of the largest operating steam locomotives in the United States and is one of my favorites. The Disneyland Railroad will display Disneyland Railroad #1, the C. K. Holiday, a 4-4-0 Steam Locomotive built by WED Enterprises for the opening of the Disneyland Park in 1955. The Carolwood Foundation (Walt's Barn) will have some narrow gauge equipment on display as well with a Disney History. Amtrak will also have their Veterans Unit (a Diesel Electric Locomotive painted to honor our Nations Veterans) on display. The event is free and open to the public! More information on the event available at - fullertontrainmuseum.org/railroad-days/2017/?rf=redr TrainChasers will want to follow Santa Fe #3751 on Facebook to keep track of operations for a chance to see the locomotive traveling to and from the event. #3751 Facebook -> www.facebook.com/SantaFe3751/ |
