Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad - Chama New Mexico & Antonito Colorado
Opening Day Double Headers! - May 27th, 2017.
The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad will begin the 2017 season on May 27th with two special double-headed trains. Locomotives 315 and 463 will pull the opening day train from Antonito to Chama; while a pair of K-36 locomotives will pull the first train from Chama to the summit of Cumbres Pass and then on to Antonito. Photo Freight Charter! June 3rd & 4th, 2017
The following Weekend - June 3rd & 4th, 2017, the Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec are sponsoring a Photo Freight Charter with D&RGW #315. (The #315 is a 2-8-0 Baldwin built in 1895, restored to operation by the Durango Railroad Historical Society. This locomotive only runs for special events).

The Texas Returns! - April 28, 29 & 30, 2017.
See the TEXAS unveiled as her year long restoration is made viewable to the public for the first time.
This 3-day event will be her only appearance outside of Atlanta. The Event will include Appearances and Operations of N&W #611, a 4-8-4 Steam Locomotive, and Lehigh Valley #126, an 0-6-0 Steam Locomotive.
Special Restoration Presentations, Once in a Lifetime Photo Opportunities and Visiting Equipment will round out the event offerings. The Texas is a 4-4-0 Steam Locomotive built in 1856 and along with the General, was involved in the Great Locomotive Chase during the Civil War. Following it's appearance at this event, the Texas will return to Atlanta GA where it will be displayed in the newly constructed Lloyd and Mary Ann Whitaker Cyclorama Building.

Join the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad for a series of authentic photo events at the Cass Scenic Railroad. This inaugural photo charter series will feature the first-ever private photo charter on the former Chesapeake & Ohio line connecting Cass with Durbin. Photo Runby's and Staging will be presented on the newly restored ex-C&O Durbin Line, the Cass Scenic Railroad Whitaker Line, and the "Durbin Rocket" line out of Durbin featuring Heisler #6 with Freight Equipment. This 2-day event will feature many unique photo opportunities, and rarely seen sights.

Southern Pacific #4449 - Mainline Steam Excursion - Portland Oregon to Bend Oregon and Return.
June 24-25, 2017
The Friends of SP4449 is in the final planning stages of a June 2017 excursion from Portland Oregon to Bend Oregon on an overnight trip through the Historic Columbia River Gorge and the Beautiful Deschutes River Canyon. The date of the trip is scheduled for June 24, 2017 returning June 25th, 2017.
