Norfolk & Western "J" #611 under restoration at the Spencer Shops in Spencer NC in fall of 2014.
N&W #611 will return to steam for the first time since 1994 following an extensive restoration. Her first public appearance will be in Spencer NC at the North Carolina Transportation Museum (the former site of the Southern Railway's Spencer Shops). Following her "Farewell Party" she will be pulling passenger excursions on her home rails as part of the Norfolk Southerns 21st Century Steam Program. Get Ready Train Chasers!!!
