Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society has announced a special appearance, and excursion for the Nickel Plate #765, a 2-8-4 "Berkshire," coal burning, Steam Locomotive built by Lima Locomotive works in 1944. The #765 is a Train Chasers favorite for good reason, she puts on quite the show! Heres the scoop - June 11, 2016 - Nickel Plate #765 will be under steam and on display as part of the "Franklin Park Fest featuring Railroad Days" held in Franklin Park, Illinois. Admission is Free! Departing from "Glen of North Glenview" and Fox Lake, IL, the train will travel on Metra's "Milwaukee North Line" to Janesville WI. The Train will return the same day after a layover. A variety of seating options are available including First Class and Dome Cars.
