Baldwin | 1929 | Welcome to 2017 Train Chasers! 2016 Was a great year, we saw many steam locomotives return to operating service after long (and expensive) restorations including - Shay #2 at Cass Scenic Railway, West Virginia. Grand Canyon Railway #29 in Arizona. Great Smoky Mountains Raiilway #1702, North Carolina Baldwin #26 at Steamtown, Penssylvania. Check out Steam by State for these and others operating in 2017!. Union Pacific #844 returned to service in 2016. Check out Mainline Steam for updated mainline schedules for 2017. Walt Disney World Railroad in Florida, Baldwin #2, the "Lily Belle" returned to the rails of the Magic Kingdom Park after a long multi-year rebuild. Knotts Berry Farm, in California, saw D&RGW #340 return to steam over the summer. Theme Parks can be a great place to see Steam Locomotives in action, check out THEME PARK STEAM for a list of parks that operate steam locomotives, with special note of parks that operate historic locomotives vs. "Park Trains" (Locomotives built for theme parks).
