Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton PA will host a re-dedication ceremony for Baldwin 0-6-0 Steam Locomotive #26 on Sunday April 17. This locomotive, built in 1929, has recently been seen under steam for test runs in late 2015 and early 2016 after an extensive multi-year restoration. The day of the ceremony will be the first opportunity the public has to ride behind the newly rebuilt locomotive. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, free trading cards with locomotive facts, and a special exhibit on the restoration of the locomotive.
Baldwin #26 is scheduled to operate the following days at Steamtown in April and early May-
April 17 - Scranton Limited (30 minute yard tour)
April 22 - Scranton Limited
April 23 - Scranton Limited
April 24 - Nay Aug Gorge Limited (45 minute roundtrip ride to Nay Aug Gorge )
April 29 - Scranton Limited

Baldwin #26 is a unique locomotive as it was built by Baldwin as a Yard Switcher for the Baldwin Locomotive Works, the largest manufacturer of Steam Locomotives. Baldwin Shops were located in Philadelphia and later Eddystone Pennsylvania. I'm looking forward to seeing and riding behind this unique locomotive.
